Piyo is the one workout where I can heal both my body and my soul. It will always be the cornerstone of any workout program I do. My bootie was on fire after two days of it, I take that as a good sign 5.5 Years ago I broke my foot and tore all the ligaments and tendons in my foot and ankle. I had to have surgery, hardware put in and did not walk or put weight on it for 3 months. Then I was in a walking boot for another month. I was in physical therapy for 6 months and still had pain and a limp due to the ligaments freezing while being in a cast/boot and healing wrong. Then Piyo was released and I asked my surgeon for permission to do it. He agreed and after 6 weeks of piyo, my limp and most of my pain (I still have some to this day) were gone and he cleared me not to do PT and just do Piyo instead. |
PiYo has always been my go to when I need to quiet my mind and get an intense calorie burn. I love how it stretches me out but also helps me build strength and flexibility. I was about 225 pounds three years ago. Having had asthma my whole life, and caring so much extra weight around; exercising was more of a chore rather than something that I could do. Just walking down the street and talking at thecsame time winded me. Piyo seemed to be a doable program, with its low impact and not having to lug around a whole bunch of equipment. After about a year of doing Piyo I lost over 80 pounds. Things that I came out of it with are: a leaner body, confidence, flexibility, and the knowledge that I could do it |
